Great thoughts today Sharaya especially in light of a piece I saw this morning on the news. It was highlighting haute, designer baby and toddler clothes! They even showed little ones modeling them down a runway. I was appalled. The reporter interviewed one family on the street and I was so proud of what the mom said. She explained to the reporter that she would never, ever spend such money (even if she had it) on expensive clothes for her three children. She went on to say that she tries to get all of their clothes at thrift stores because she does not want her kids to fall into materialism.
It is always lovely to visit your site and discover a new morsel to sink my teeth into.

Powerful words to meditate on and pray over, Sharaya. Have you read Louis Giglio's I am not but I know I AM? He talks about how we so often think that it's all about us and we mistakenly invite God to be apart of what we are doing when it is in fact, ALL about HIM and we should be about the business of joining HIM everyday to do what HIS work is around us.
Thank you for this reminder and yes, I will pray with you to have him scrub off the mud and find out where He wants me to be.

This is near and dear to my heart as well! This is one reason I have my children attending a classical, Christian school. These schools not only equip students to love God w/their hearts, but with their MINDS as well! Excellence. Rigor. The mind is a GIFT from God to enjoy and explore and expand and know the wonders of God's creation within what we call our minds. Oh, don't get me started...

My daughter and my son-in-law talk about the future of the church and how pastors must get back to proclaiming the majesty of God...proclaiming the Gospel as it is written and not as our culture wants to hear.

As always, Sharaya, you have posted something that has touched my heart.
Last night I started a Bible study at my house. A dear friend and i had been talking for months about a home bible study and we finally put it together and last night was the first night. I am the leader!! AHHHH!
I was really nervous last night but after it was all over last night I could not go to sleep as I was so excited about the 10 women who filled up my living room and shared their heart.
I loved this quote....
"The Lord doesn't ask me to be a wine maker, just His obedient servant, trusting Him, and filling the jars "to the brim"—to do my best for Him."
Thank you, sweet friend, for sharing this. I am going to print this out and paste it on my mirror as a reminder that I am simply the obedient servant...doing my best for Him.
